Casa de los Suenos!!! I've never been in a place like this before!!! I highly recommend checking it out here! The view, and the architecture was just amazing! Lots of open air living space, large windows, spacious rooms, clean, simple yet very charming! The best part was the infinity pool that had a direct view of sunset! You could see the ocean (even hear it when the swells were high), the jungle scenery around you, and the sounds of all the birds, monkeys and bats!
The teak wood work was just exquisite! The couple that created this put a lot of love and thought into this place! It was lovely on my first day to arrive here in time for sunset and to meet Aly, Ric's new sweetheart, and watch the colors light up the sky with them! I knew I was going to enjoy this place, especially from a hammock :)
A review of the place: I WILL return there! Such an amazing house! Great for entertaining and yet having places to curl up with a good book (or sketch pad :D) The peace and quiet up there so high in the mountains is wonderful. Down below, you are closer to the beach, but you are also closer to the noise of small town. And during the dry season the dust from the dirt roads is thick and coats the plants and buildings that line the main road. Yes the trek up the hill is an adventure in of itself. If you go to Costa Rica and want to explore outside the urban areas... you must, you MUST get a 4 wheel drive vehicle!!! My definition of potholes and bad roads has certainly been altered after experiencing the roads there! WOW! You have to drive very carefully as some of the dips and bumps are deep! They are slowly improving the roads I hear, but still, I would get a vehicle that can handle the terrain! Oh yes, and to get to the villa you get to cross a small river:) I liked it. Making the climb up to the villa is SO WORTH IT!!! Many locals said the beauty of the road conditions helps you to consolidate your trips and saves gas on extra trips. For the house, the view with cool seasonal breezes, and the amazing experience... it was so awesome!!!
